Some great History Podcasts

Genealogy is the researching of Family History, and, like most genealogists, I also have a big love of History.

When I can't do any more genealogy research and head to bed (usually far later than I intended), I am usually listening to a History related podcast on my iPhone.

It is nice to relax and listen about historical events that I may not have studied as much.

Some of my favorite History Podcasts are:

The British History Podcast - Great podcast on British History.  I'm not sure why, but I think this is my favorite.    This one is my husband's favorite too.  Jamie does a great job keeping it interesting!

Stuff You Missed in History Class - random topics and seems like an every changing set of hosts.  Topics are usually on interesting people and events that would appeal to a wide ranger in audience.

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - The only thing I don't like about this podcast is how far apart they are released.  I understand he needs to do a great deal of research for each episode, but the waiting between episodes is looooong.  They are a nice long length.  Even my husband likes this one.

The History of England - Interesting, chronological episodes, well researched.

History of the Crusades - About, you guessed it, the Crusades.  Good content, but the delivery is a bit boring at times.  This is the only one with a female podcaster.

Revolutions - New podcast from the History of Rome guy Mike Duncan

The History of Rome - finished podcast by Mike Duncan

If anyone has some other suggestions please leave a comment, I'm always interested in new or new-to-me podcasts!
