Access to Irish records closed...
According to the news article at http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jul/21/ireland-shuts-government-genealogy-personal-data-concerns the Irish Vital records that were available at www.irishgenealogy.ie are currently not available.
I hardly even got to use them while they were up! I guess there is some privacy issues, but honestly, in places where Vital Records can be accessed easily there doesn't appear to be a corresponding increased threat of identify theft or anything else really. *Sigh*....anyone know if there is a petition started to get access back soon? Irish genealogy is difficult enough with all the record losses....
