A William Grubb married Margaret Auld on 3 Jan 1857 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.

In the 1861 Census of Scotland there is a William (29) is living with his wife Margaret (28) and daughter Elizabeth (4)

In the 1881 Census of Canada, there is a William Grubb (53), wife Barbara (50) and daughter Ellen (20).

In the 1891 Census of Canada, William (63) is living with wife Barbara (63) and grandsons Joseph Stewart (10) and Daniel Stewart (9)

Something is wrong here, or this is a 2nd wife named Barbara, since Barbara was his 1st wife.  On the other hand, two of his daughters seem to be in a polygamous marriage, so maybe he was as well?

His daughter Elizabeth's death record lists her mother as Margaret, but lists both parents as born in England.
