William Hewitt

William Hewitt was born about 1828 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.

William Hewitt married Harriet Hudson.

William is listed at No. 1 Long Croft in Sheffield, England in the 1851 Census of England.  His occupation was "table blade forger". He is listed as living with his wife Harriet and 10 mth old son Alfred.

In the 1861 Census of England, William is listed at 1 Allen Court, in Sheffield, England.  Again, his occupation was listed as "table blade forger".
He is listed as living with his wife Harriet, 10 year old son Alfred, 4 year old son Joseph, 2 year old daughter Mary Ann, and 1 mth old son William. The Ecclesiastical parish was "St Stephen"

In the 1871 Census of England, William is living with his wife Harriet, and children Joseph, 15, Mary Ann, 12, William 10, Harriet, 8, and Florence 6.

William died before the marriage of his son William Edward Hewitt in 1891.


*** The documentation on this person and his relatives is still weak.  More documents will need to be ordered from England and hopefully DNA tests done on relatives to help confirm the suspected relationships.
